I shoot Rem. Sluggers 2 3/4" out of my Mossberg 535 28" smoothbore, shot a deer last year @ 95 yds. Just remember with a bead, beyond 75 yds you are covering up most of the deer. As stated pick up a box of each load i.e. win,rem, federal see which one shoots best out of your shotgun, then practice,practice,practice and practice some more at different ranges. Good Luck

Depends appon the slug. with the 20 gauge i used some slugs were good at 100 yds some sucked at 100 yds (or it was just me)

Kick the smoothbore to the curb and buy a Hastings. You wont regret it.

i def agree. i bought my hastings barrel for my 12 gauge 870 and wont look back. i threw on a nikon monarch 3x9 and increased my range to 200 shooting 3in winchester partition golds. itll stay as my slug gun until i get that savage 220f.

i shot my old rem 1100 tonight 75yds inch high 100yds dead on 150 about 11 inches low off my bench rest with a smooth bore
