Question How many bullets?

Random question of the day. When deer hunting, how many bullets do you bring with you? When shotgun hunting I bring 5 in the gun and an extra box of five. Sometimes I feel like the extra box is overkill because usually everything is over in one shot. What about everyone else?

Muzzleloading - just two extra loads in addition to what's already in my gun. Anything else, just capacity (rifle 5, shotgun 5, slug gun, 3). Unless it's a population control hunt. Then I bring extra, even though there really isn't a need.

If I can't kill it it won't be from lack of shooting!! That is my nephews out look, he carries 3 clips of 5 and probably extras for his semi-auto. My son and I carry encores so we have to make each shot count but still carry 5-8 shells if we have that many. My son has been instructed that if he shoots a big one and can still see it shoot again.

I admit, when I first started, I carried a ridiculous amount of ammo.

Now, I'll carry the 4-5 in the rifle. Usually throw 2 more in my pack, incase I do something stupid, like hit the floorplate release when I'm in my stand.
(Don't laugh, it happens).

If I'm using a revolver in the stand, I'll have the 6 in the cylinder. Maybe a couple extra in my pocket.

T/C Contender loaded, with 5 shells in a holder.

Blackpowder 2 speed loaders is all I have, so thats what I take after its loaded.

I usually consider the possibility of taking 2 deer, and maybe a second shot
per deer in case I suddenly suck at shooting, which could definatley happen.

Now if I'm walking a powerline, trying to jump a deer with a shotgun, I might carry 15 or
so extra shells.
