Adjustable treestand
 

Do you guys know of a treestand that is adjustable once you've already started climbing?

I love my summit titan but would like the ability to adjust slightly as the tree size tapers down as you go up.

I know the tree lounge stands used to come with blocks you could insert to change the angle of the stand once you were up there. Not sure what else if out there.

Equalizer -- has a hand crank and can adjust up to +/- 15 degrees. Great stand for gun hunting and similar price to most good quality stands. https://www.equalizertreestands.com/index.php

The 3 brands I know of are cougar claw, timbertall, and equalizer. IMO they all have their flaws and advantages over the other , if there was a way to combine the 3 it be a perfect stand.

I wish the hand crank feature was on my summit. Even if the cable stops were staggered or spaced differently on one side than the other. alot of times one stop is a little small where the next one is just too big once you get past the 15ft mark or so.

With a bit of practice, one can become very good at judging a tree so that the initial adjustment will be very close to level at final height. On some occasions, I have adjusted my Summit on the fly if my estimate was wrong. It's not very difficult. Be sure to wear a safety harness and also that both sections are tied together if you do this.

Only problem with that is the angle of the stand at the bottom of the tree is so bad you can barely get into it. I go up the same trees a lot so I just have to give up a little comfort at the top for a bit of comfort at the bottom.

you might can find a stand to adjust but I would just keep using your titan that is what I have and I have had several climbers this is by far the best I have ever used. If you find another stand I dont think you would be happy with it.

The thing I do is put a strap on tree step on first and this allows me to set my climber higher on the tree and at a less steep angle. The tree is so much wide at the bottom but once you get up a few more feet the diameter doesn't change as fast.

I got a Timbertall Baby Lite, weight 12-14 lbs., has a knob for adjustment. It's not an ideal tree stand for BIG people though.
