Garlic smell under my tree

My hunting buddy went out this morning and noticed a smell of garlic under the tree that we have been using for my climbing stand. I hunt in a small 10 acre track of land with heavy brush all around. We share the land with one other hunter who hunts at night and we hunt in the morning time. He has informed us that we are not the only ones using the land, he has found other tree stands. But we are the only ones with land owner permissions.

What could make that smell naturally?

Should I find the other hunters?

Has anyone smelt garlic in there hunting area?

Thanks

Sabatoge. Deer hate the smell of garlic. Someone wants to have the deer come their way.
Just my opinion. There's nothing natural in NC that smells like garlic that I've come across.

That's what I am thinking, it sucks that people have to ruin it for us.

Turn about is far play. Let them know that they put it there by diggin up the area and putting it under their stands if you can.

Someone mixed up a batch of homemade liquid deer fence and sprayed it near your tree to scare away any deer. The recipe is easily found on the internet.

That could be the case, but in Indiana we have wild garlic that grows in and near fields. Looks like young onions or chives. Could you have that?

My buddy thinks it might be mustard garlic plants but I am sure we have unwanted guests. Looks like I might have to find the other stands.

At least we have a crappy week here in Mass, its been very warm and rainy.

Thanks guys

Does it look like the palnt in the link here? If so your bud could be right. We don't have it in the areas I hunt in North Carolina so the first thing I thought is what I posted above.
Hope I didn't get ya ryeled up, especially if I was wrong.
Anyway hope ya do good this season!

I've heard that hair clippings work good too! You could find their stands and casually dump some at their spot. but that would mean dipping to his level(unless you naturally shed);)

You could be City Folk

......unaware that there is wild garlic or wild onion, growing in the area.

Of course, someone might be getting ready to cook a pizza or some spaghetti. Talk about a cover scent.
