Just curious who shoots what and what kinda range are you hunting.
I have a remington 7400 30-06 witha leupold vx3 scope. I hunt a lot of heavily wooded area with up to a 100 yard shot, but I have taken many in the pasture at around 150 yd... Also have a trusty marlin 30 30 lever action

Too many to list, but I'm partial to my Rem 700 CDL fluted .243, Rem 700 .270 and Encore .308 lately for whitetails. They're all topped with Leupolds, except one with the Nikon gold 3.5x10x50mm. I still have my old stand by Marlin 336 that's always reliable too.(Redfield 4x) Then there's the Rem 700 CDL fluted .270 and ... LOL! Don't get me going. I should have stopped at the Marlin 336 30-30 and it would have been a lot cheaper. LOL!

For years it would of been my Remington 700 bdl 270 with a older 3x9 redfield for shots to 200 yards but I think my tikka T3 30-06 with a Nikon 3x9 may take it's place... For fields my good old Remington 700 bdl 7mm rem mag with a burris 3x9. I also gotta marlin 336 30-30 made in 1952 with a 3x9 bushnell I make a point to use it at least once a year...

Those Marlin 336 30-30's are something else! Guy doesn't really need much beyond that for whitetail. But hey, I don't want it to be alone in the gun safe. LOL!

I have been shooting a 270 weatherby magnum mark deluxe the German model for a long time now for mule deer and whitetails. At ranges up to 350yds it’s a sweet shooter. I inherited it from my grandpa. It is truly art in the form of a firearm.

my main "goto" guns i have a remington 700 in 7mmSTW with a vari-x III that i use for big fields, but for the most part i use my model 7 in 7mm-08....

you got two fine guns there, i'd hate to guess how many deer have been killed with the old marlin 30-30's, i know a bunch of people that used them to kill there first deer myself included...and the 06, great cal. sutible for anything in the US
