.338 Win Mag vs WT Doe.

Took this deer at 250 yards with a .338 Win mag shooting a 250 grain bullet. The deer was walking towards us when I shot it and the bullet took out the heart. Deer dropped so fast I had no idea where it went after I pulled the trigger lol. Over gunned for a deer but nonetheless.

I don't believe in over gunned. It's all about shot placement and bullet performance. Quick, instantaneuos, a very clean kill, animal never felt anything.Never even herd the shot.Perfect in my books.Good job.
Nice looking animal,very nice pics.
Keep it up.

Like Jeff said, a clean quick kill is more important than what caliber you used.
Well done, and dinner is served.

I've never understood why anybody would hunt whitetails with the magnesium type calibers, but that isn't my choice.

Thanks for the comments. I usually use smaller calibers like the 30-30, 250 savage or the .270 Win, but I figured I would give the .338 a try for the heck of it. The .338 would definitely be a great caliber for moose and elk.

Dead is dead so it doesn't matter what you shoot it with as long as you shoot it right...
