Default Deer cooler update

Will I got to try my deer cooler out today with a good size 10 piont buck. I am not good at judging weight but this deer was around 170-200lbs he just fit inside anything bigger and I dont think it would fit inside. A big doe would be ok the antlers took away some head room and I also knew I would have to cut the legs down. I harvested this buck at 8:30am and have no place to quarter it out and with temp going in the mid60s it did the job.

Ps I did not reset the date on the camera

That is a really nice buck. That deer isn't far from 200 if it's not. Definitely over 170+.

Great deer!! Looks kind of short for how big it is. Lol...... Almost like it's legs aren't long enough for it's body.

Grea idea with the cooler. Congrats!!!!!

The buck looks awesome, and I'd say over 170 for sure. Also the cooler looks like it came out great and works well. Good job.

You should have skinned the deer and cut the head off.

Meat will not go bad in a hour or two - so the most important thing is not to get it cooled down, but to get the hide off it as quickly as possible.

Most taxidermists will tell you that if you hang your buck by it's head, it ruins the cape - if you want to get the deer mounted, because it stretches the neck muscle and the cape and it makes the neck smaller in diameter and longer.

It is a pretty awesome buck, how many months were you watching it before you shot it. I think you must have had it all planned out - if you spent all the money for the meat locker up front and all the time to build it before the season started. Good Job.
