What's in your pockets?
Believe it or not in the front pockets of my camo coveralls are: A camo head net, a pair of camo gloves with the half of the thumb and first two fingers cut off on both gloves, 1 unused 243 win shell, a pair of vivitar 8x22 binos, a vivitar dvr 840 xhd camcorder, 17 unused 22 shells,a browning 3 blade pocket knife, a set of keys to my truck and jeep, a handkerchief, and a ziplock sandwich bag full of tootsie rolls and tootsie pops and a cell phone. That has to be some kind of record!
Live it up! Doug |
In Pennsylvania - you would be a illegal hunter.
You are not allowed to carry ammo for any gun other then the caliber for which you are shooting. The same goes for carrying shells for two different gauge shotguns at the same time. |
Nope I got you beat I have a carton cigs,a roll of salami, the local newspaper, keys to car,a pocket knife,a sack of gold coins,a rabbit foot key chain,a 6 pack of mountain dew,a pack of gum, large box of matches, and a pair of antlers all in my front 2 pockets.
|
Doug - How many licks 'till you get to the center of the tootsie pop?
|
na i dont carry much in my pockets I have a little hunting bag i use for everything.
|
I usually carry...........................
Nothing in my pockets. I hate having anything in my pockets at any time. It just bugs me. Everything goes in my backpack. |

What if you have the shells in your pocket and are hunting with a bow.... Do you get in trouble for not having the correct caliber bow?
Live it up! Doug Having grown up there and knowing how the PA game commission works......I would say almost defiantly. |

I carry everything in front pockets in deer season, always afraid wallet will fall out back cuz of all the walking and rough terrain I cross so I put my wallet and tags in front pocket, my cell phone, 3 extra shells, full face mask just incase, gloves, and an extra orange vest just incase I need to mark off a well hid spot.
|
I found a twenty dollar bill in my pockets of my hunting pants from last year so I have carried money. .But normally, my hunting licence and tags are all that I carry in my pockets. All other accessories are either around my waist , around neck or inside my day pack.

kust jokin, I don't cary nothin in my pockets. most the time I don't even carry a back pack sept for full day rut hunts, usually just binos camo, some water and a grunt, and flashlight. |
pants pockets: generally my standard day to day stuff: keys, an ink pen or two, my wallet, a rosary
Fanny pack: Knife, drag rope, a pen for filling the tag, string to tie on the tag, a flashlight, butt out tool, extra shells. |
I wear old military cargo camo pants, and have I my extra slugs in the pocket, a drag rope, always a pocket knife in my right front, sometimes a flashlight, pen, and my hunting knife on my belt. This year I will have a small pair of binoculars. Also string for tying tags etc..

I carry most everything in my pack and very little in my pockets. As for what I have in my pack; too much. :)

Live it up! Doug Flaming me into a fight. I am merely a interpreter - not the person that wrote the law. In theory, if a person had a 16 gauge shell in their pocket and put it in their 12 gauge shotgun and did not know that it was a 16 gauge shot shell, it could fall down the barrel and when the gun did not go bang, they could put a 12 gauge shell behind it and blow themselves up. Or if they had a rifle shell that was not the same shell - a similar thing could happen. As far as I am concerned, I don't care what happens to you so you can carry what ever you please. Here is their web site - if you think that their laws are stupid, maybe you should write them a letter and explain your theorys on safety and hunting. http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/portal/se...unity/pgc/9106 I thank god every day that ever licensed hunter in Pennsylvania is required to attend and pass a hunters safety course before they are allowed to purchase a hunting license. This persons beliefs only reassures me that there are hunters in the woods elsewhere that should not be there. |
