Griz--the get-together was a gathering of members from the northeast region who frequent this site . . . it was 2 weekends ago (July 5th). One of the members who attended is a good friend of mine and is a MD gamewarden. He has helped me tremendously in ridding some of the areas I hunt from poachers. Give the DNR a call if you see it happening.

Grizzlybear,

Maryland is like any other state. It is easy to stereotype when your first exposure is to the bad guys, but they are a small percentage.

Fort Meade has hunting on its 8,600 acres, and as of last year has a 6 point or better antler requirement. That should make for more nice bucks! It is located a few minutes off of route 32 from the BW parkway.
