The prices of flashlights?
 

Anyone seen the prices on some of these little suckers,I am seeing them between $50-400 dollars :rant:

If you are looking for a good value:

small flashlight: I like Maglite (2 AA battery) with a Nite-Ize LED upgrade ($4 at walmart)


2 C batteries light From Lowes: Task Force 3-Watt LED Flashlight Item #: 225285 Model FT-NS-2C 3WATT $25

Mini Maglite and a decent $15- $20 LED headlamp is all I need and all I can imagine needing.

Sams Club has a two pack of LED flashlights for $15. They have a two position switch that toggles between 75 lumens and150 lumens. Many LED lights are very focused, but these have a bright corona that will light up most of my back yard. They are tremendous lights for the price.

Another light I like is by Coast and runs $30 to $40. But it is more focused than the Sams light.

If you want a good flashlight without breaking the bank this is it.

Very bright uses AAA batteries and also has White 115 Luminens Red and Greeen not as bright all for under $30. Pretty small too.

I personally use the LED lights from advance auto..... $2.50 each I usually buy a box every year or so.... I give them away or toss them when the batteries die it costs more for batteries than the light... Dont get me wrong I keep old faithful in the truck and at home is its twin ( 4D Maglite with LED) But for $ 2.50 if I lose it or drop it in the river or ocean Im not to worried. You need a dependable flashlight for those times when recovering game at night, nothing worse than you equipment failing when following a blood trail at night

My main lights are two Streamlight rechargeable lights, about $90 each. I bought a 200 led light flashlight with 8 AA batteries a couple of months ago from Sportsmans Guide thinking it would be a good bloodtrail light, but thus far I do not like that light.

We are seeing the high price items spring up everywhere in the hunting industry. I guess people expect something thats extremely high to he extremely good. Just look at bow prices, or sights, broadheads, and so on. It's getting crazy.

I have a mini maglight and a duracell headlamp that has red, green and white LED's. The white LED shines easily to 35 yds and the red and green are great for navigating. I use it for hunting, fishing, working on vehicles, etc. Those two are all you need for hunting or just about any outdoor activity for that matter.


Except for the BIG Maglite I have in my truck. It serves double duty. Light and billy club.

The LED's at Lowes ar good and don't cost an arm and a leg. I got mine two years ago and still works great.
