Deer and Honey

I know deer are attracted to molasses and "sweet" fruits like pears and apples. Are deer attracted to honey? Maybe mix a little vanilla extract with some honey - would you have anything other than a sticky mess and ants?

I've never heard anything like that before, but it definitely wouldn't surprise me. I'd probably put it on an old stump though.

Thanks forr the replies. As a beekeeper, I generally have some "old" honey around that I usually use to feed the bees. I think I'm going to put a little vanilla extract in some and pour it on a stump and see what happens (may even take 'em a Hardees biscuit).

I'm sure the bears would love it too.
