I still hunt more than anything else. Most of the bucks I' ve killed were ones I came up on and they ran a little ways and then bedded down or circled around behind me and hid. Blacktails like to do that. Then it' s just a matter of finding them.

It depends on the area and the wind, I prefer stand hunting, but if the wind is blowing good I like to stalk gulleys from the downwind side or any place else where a deer can get out of the wind and either bed or feed.

We usually do dog and watch runs, but we hunt with older boys that can' t seem to go all day. So when they bag off early, we head out and generally still hunt. I love the peace and quiet of the bush. [:-] (As long as the occaisional gunshot rings out! 
)

I agree with rockytop. For the most part, if the ground is soft and quiet and the wind is predictable, still hunting is the way to go.
On flukey days or dry, crunchy days, you got no chance against the nose and ears of a whitetail. So, get a good stand position and stick tight.

I stand hunt in the morning and evenings and stalk/still hunt while scouting during midday. Definatley more successfull in the stand though. Ive killed 4 deer over the past 23 years by stalking. Not enough indian in me I guess. Maybe I should go barefoot like huntinma.[:-]
