Hunting by comittee?
I'm with you here Steve. I don't understand people coming here and asking should I take this buck or not. It's not up to us. Only you can make that decision. If a deer like that walks out in front of me on my property, he's going down without hesitation. If you think he's a good buck, take him. If you have doubts, let him go, that is if you even see him during the season. He is a very nice buck in my opinion.

I would shoot for sure. Could he blow up and be a monster in 2 years, looks like it. I believe most of us don't have the luxery of letting a deer like that pass. But this is a common topic considering all the hunting shows and how they handle it.

He's young, and clearly has the genetics to grow into a giant. But, the decision to shoot is largely based on the area you are in. If normal hunting pressure isn't too bad and you think he has a chance to make it, let him walk. The night time stuff is out of your control and hardly even worth the effort to worry about it.

It's on you, if you are afraid someone will get him, take him. He looks no more than 3 1/2. I had a similar deer on the plot I had closest to my house and let him walk for 2 seasons, just watching him only to never see him again. The choice is always yours and if its a trophy in your eyes then thats ALL THAT MATTERS!! Good luck

agreed. Who cares what someone else thinks of your deer? Especially one like THAT MONSTER.
