Pa archery hunters: sound off
#11
Well, after spotting two nights ago, and walking a large portion of the area I'm going to hunt near claysville, pa I can say I'm
Even more pumped up! The spotting trip produced sightings of more new shooter bucks... Saw over 60 deer within 1/4 mile of each other, 15 or so were bucks.
Last night I walked about 1/2 mile around one of my stands. Saw a giant 10 pt, out of velvet at about 8:30 pm. Saw a couple other little bucks, which before antler restrictions, I would have considered above average deer! Way to go Gary Alt!
Time to go drive some tacks.

In 3a where I hunt I have had literally 8 deer on my camera this summer. I have it on a small clover plot in the woods near bedding areas. Small bucks a doe and a fawn. fFor the past 4 years there have been far more bucks than does in this area. Each year it gets less. Between the Amish and PGC there won't be any deer left to hunt in 10 years.

Sad to hear that Allegany, ..... What are the regulations on the Amish? Are they like native americans in the fact that they dont have a closed season? or do they just poach year round? ... I know here in SW pa I see a ton of Amish at the Cabelas in Wheeling, WV... They are always buying newer hunting gear.
