Ted Nugent Busted

I think alot of hunters on this forum have done just as bad and I know of at least one that did much much worse.I have to say we are very quick to criticsize. yeah he did do wrong he plead no contest and paid the fine.Charges are what they are they can always be negotiated so they are reduced. As far as Conservation Officers
go there are alot of them that can be very very understanding and don't lay charges at all.All these officers have seen it all from hunters andthey are not out to get every hunter and chop him up.Mistakes are made in the field by a hunter on a daily basis weather it be on purpose or accident.Yeah Ted shot an illegal buck he shot it without looking at the regs and got off for it.Yeah that is illegal and a form of poaching. However the animal was recovered and meat eaten nothing to waste. This is probably what his Lawyers told the judge and prosecutor and why it got dropped. What is worse doing that what Ted did or shooting a legal buck wounding it loosing the animal only to let it suffer an ugly death and letting the meat spoil and going out the very next day and shoot another. Now this is legal but what is worse.Conservation officers know accidents happen and if you are upfront with them you will get a huge verbal lecture nave a small fine that is deserved but I have been told by them if you retrieve the animal and not let the meat waste they are more lenient than making a mistake and leaving it in the bush. That's when they get mad and are out for your head.Ted did make mistakes But unlike alot of hunters did not leave it there to rot.

I just saw this but read my way through it. Quite interesting. I agree with BOWHUNTERCOP, those guys on T.V. and in the magazines are so out of touch with the average hunter that I really don't pay attention to them anymore. I doubt anybody over 40 is lily white when it comes to game laws, but the majority of infractions were probably unintentional with us. You don't "accidentally" bait deer. Reminds me of a time I was checking fox traps during bow season. I saw a guy in the woods and he was acting suspicious. He kept standing up and looking around and then back down on his knee. Turns out it was a guy that lived down the road from me putting scent out for deer. (illegal at the time in my state) He was also a well known outdoors writer. He never saw me and I never said anything, but I guess I should have. I have seen a lot of illegal things over the years and now I wonder if I should have turned them in. I guess if you stand by and watch instead of raising cane like the people on this forum, you are no better than the guy breaking the law. Ted Nugent, Noel Feather, Don Lewis, and the rest are no better than us, put it to them.

That's right! That's right! We can blame it on the staff! I know maybe it was Ted's stand in double that he uses for all his stunts! Yea his double actually did it > What a load of crap. How long has Ted hunted California? Years. He is smart enough to keep up with game laws where he hunts. This has nothing to do with his travel itinerary. Please get a clue before posting such nonsense.

KS you seem angry. As far as me "blaming" anybody, I haven't. I asked some questions. As for getting a clue, well...I haven't had a chance to read Nugents statements to the investigators or prosecutor as of yet. You? Didn't get a chance to read the guides statement (licensed?) yet either. I don't know what "a stunt double" has to do with the questions I posed in my post. The travel itinerary was lost I guess. But get a clue over those questions? Smile!!!! Have fun!!!

Could you show me where anti's as you put it has taken notes from an internet forum and used the material to change a law. Any link would be sufficient
I don't care what antis think because their minds are made up about hunting anyway. But what I would hope that the neutral people out there think if they encounter a thread like this is as follows.
1. That we hunters police our own.
2. That we have ethics and a moral code we stand by.
3. That we put no one above the law even if it's someone famous that claims he's one of us.
4. And last but certainly not least that Ted Nugent (who most neutral people despise) is not now nor ever has been my leader in any way.
