We have a 160 acres in SE MN. We hunted for 5 years and killed the first buck we saw. In 2001 we started passing up anything under 130, by 2003 we were where seeing the results. We have now taken at least one nice buck a year since. Not everyone around passes on little ones but with only 160 acres it still works. Keep the pressure low and have an area that you don't touch EVER! watch for dogs and coyotes. A dog maynot kill a big buck but if it bothers him enough he will leave the area. By the way you probly have a big buck around and just don't know it. Good luck!

Not to sound to negative but most of the time places either hold big bucks or yhey dont. Most of the time the people that shhoot big bucks have the habitat that hold big bucks. Its not there better hunters they just have better land to hunt. You can try food plots, planting trees switch grass and the like, but it helps if you can get buck bedding spots on your land. The big bucks barely ever stray to far from there beds during shooting hours. And will rarely walk into food plots during light unless its close to thier bed.If no bucks are bedding on your property the rut is probably your best chance.

i agree with letting young ones walk and taking the chance of no one else shooting it. if there were tips on bringing in big bucks then deer hunting would lose a good amount of its appeal (not that i'm a trophy hunter). most hunters would love to shoot a big buck, imo.
