Tazman has a good idea for you. I have an old .270 Rem in model 700 that is anything but pleasant to shoot. Three or four shots and my shoulder is blue, but other models are not bad at all in the same caliber.

By MBuckH72: A 25-06 is a good round for a young' n. Along with a lot of others that have been mentioned. But, when I was younger, I liked the 25-06. Still use it too. Low recoil, and a flat shooter ;) He doesnt know what he' s talking about [:o];) (JK Kev) |
