So, by saying that the meat is an important part of the hunt makes me GOOD guy, and if I said that the antlers were the most important part that would make me a (less) good guy...??...
Gee, I never knew that... Thanks..I feel much better about myself now...I think I'll go devour one of the many woodland creatures that I happen to have stored in my freezer... |
Just dont take any pride in their size/flavor/shot placement/ how you hunted them cause then you are BAD HUNTER! :)

Why do you think someone ask if you are a meat hunter? Why does it matter? I'm both, like most. I hunt does for meat then trophy hunt. One doesn't carry more weight than the other. Just like you have some bow hunters that look down their nose at gun hunters or crossbow hunters. Just like some look down their nose at people that hunt over bait or out of a shooting house. Some just think they are doing it the right way and others suck as hunters. There is alway too much devision among hunters. Thats all I'm saying. |

But back to the question, I do concider myself a meat hunter, but I will pass on most things for the first couple of weeks, only because I enjoy being out there, and I cant imagine being done hunting the first week of our hunting season. |
where i hunt if i see a leagle deer its getting a bullet got alot of people around here that need the meat

This topic has and will always be an argument among hunters. I say who cares as long as it is a legal kill and you eat and respect the game you take. You can hold out for the biggest deer in the woods or kill the first one that comes along, just don't waste it. You have goals in your mind long before you squeeze the trigger or release the string.

Hmmmm... If I thought I would get involved in some deep ETHICAL discussion, I would not have posted on this thread...I'm too old for that crap... Don't mean NUTHIN'...
I prefer to think that most hunters hunt mostly for the enjoyment of the sport, without considering themselves superior to others because someone else's motives for hunting might differ from thiers.. |
