small horns in velvet already?? in NY
 

i was cruising on some back roads and i could swear a saw a deer with small nubs (2-3 inches) coming from his head with what looked like velvet? was i seeing things or are the horns in velvet developing in new york already???thanks.

Im seeing plenty of velvet every night, on my way home ,for a couple weeks now. No fawns yet though.

Went fishing this morning in harriman, saw a buck feeding in the water by the shore , looked like he had at least 80" of horn already, too far and dark for a pic, but no lie!

been seeing horns for weeks now here in NJ

I have seen a few with new growth. One nice one dead on the side of the road and couple while turkey hunting. but no fawns yet either.
