anybody ever heard about deer having canines? I shot a doe 2 years ago with canines.

Other than little nipping teeth in the front of the jaw, I don't think I've ever seen or heard of that. Got any pictures?

I saw them once on the lower jaw of a skull at the taxidermy shop I work at. The guy had the skull sent out to be European Bleached. The teeth were about a 1/4" long and pointed.

its genetics. For some reason recessive genes show up in some deer from a long long time ago.

Perhaps that's what happened to the saber-toothed tigers. They messed with the saber-toothed deer:)

They're herbivores so other than a defect not sure why any would have them.
