Default Best 30-06 Factory Loads for Whitetails?

What is everyone's favorite factory load for whitetails in a 30-06? By factory load I'm referring to anything that isn't hand-loaded.

I dont have an '06 but hornady custom has shot well for me. In 30-06 the 150 grain interlock would be the ticket IMO.

Local gun shop just started carrying Sierra Game King, I'm sighted in with 150 gr.
Haven't hunted with them but I know Sierra bullets are popular among folks who reload.

A 150 gr Remington Core-Lokt will take down any whitetail walking in short order. About $20 a box.

If I were going after a real trophy, I would probably spring for Hornady Superformance in 150 gr with GMX bullets. Around $40.

Only your gun can tell you what it likes.

Thndrchicken is right. White tails are not that tough a critter to kill. Any "typical" center fire, medium game hunting round will certainly do the trick. The 30.06 Spr. cartridge is about as good as you could choose for hunting. What you need to do is try a few different loads to see which groups best out of your rifle. Just helped my hunting buddy, ER, set up his BAR in 30.06. Had 8 different factory ammos to try out. One would not group better than 4.5 MOA. Most were around 1.25 - 1.50 MOA. The "winner" was under 1 MOA. Which in my experience is outstanding for any mass produced hunting rifle - and a factory load. I just hope he could find more ammo in that same lot number.

I agree that Rem CoreLokt are some great factory ammo. My .30-06 love the 180g rounds.
