Rifle Hunting From A Tree Stand

Has Any One Done This Before

I almost always hunt from my climber, gun or bow. I like the high vantage point. The biguns still manage to sneak up on me though:s2:

Been doing it for about 5 yrs now. First time I tried it I fell in love with the view you have.

Also seems to help me hear things easier.

Being up in a tree stand is great. You get to a great view, you can watch nature on the forest floor below (see squirrels run, se red foxes, etc), and your scent is off the forest floor.

The only time it is not so great is if the wind picks up or a thunderstorm blows through...pretty freaky having your tree sway back and forth in the wind.

A Necessity, but not everywhere,

if you hunt in rifle season, and the leaves are still on the trees in the woods. There the deer tend to scent you before you even get to see them, if you are on the ground.
