Google Earth is also very helpful. It provides aerial photos in 3D. It's free to download.

A lot of county Property Appraiser offices will have new color aerials that you can print on-line. The advantage is that usually they have the landowners property outlined. You can also get the contiguous landowners names, etc as well as any other tracts you have an interest in......

My county clerks office has great online aerial photos available. Many state environmental conservation (or equivalent) offices also do.

try bing maps http://www.bing.com/maps/?FORM=Z9FD there is some good ariel views straight overhead and at an angle. you can zoom in and practicaly read a liscence plate. you can also get a sence of the terrain by the color and type of trees.

I like Bing maps too. I've seen them all and Bing maps have the best quality aerial photos.
