I had a problem with wasps in my box blind every year. Last spring I purchased a cedar fence picket, cut it into 3 pieces and laid them in the blind. Had no wasps or bees in the blind last year. Worth a try.

I Don't think

those african bees, or any bee or wasp, has it in their contract to give three year olds, safe conduct passes.

Life sure ain't perfect.

We go before the season every year and kill them with contact spray. It's just all a part of maintaining the stands. I for one wouldn't want to sit in a sealed stand that's been bombed with insecticide.

I personally like the smoke method. I used to work maintenance at a summer camp and had to deal with wasps alot in the cabins. I would take a stick or broom handle and make a giant q-tip with a paper bag and light it. You can stick it as close to the nest as you want. For me, it seemed to stun and irritate them. If you make sure there aren't any still in the nest, you can knock it out on the ground and then light it with the burning paper, no nest no wasps (for a while anyway).
