I have been told from someone that co-owned and operated a deer attractant company that anise oil is the absolute best non sexual deer attractant you can use.

Wow. Opinions vary.

I have some Hunter's Specialties oak acorn cover-up wafers and the orig. Vanilla Killa from the Fitzgeralds.

I can't hardly say they smell anything alike. Hmm? Plus, I've tried eating some acorns and don't recall the smells are similar except for the acorns tasted incredibly bitter. LOL!

i have used vanilla and sweet anise for cover scents for over 20yrs. they both work fine to mask human scent.

someone mentioned WD40, i've seen it use as a fish atractant. spaying it on lures to catch more fish will work at times. i personally hate WD40 for anything,it will dry out and make things rust.

That's a good side-point to make. It's great for ridding an area of water. Some Marines are taught NOT to clean their guns with it because it's not a long term lubrication or protectant. I mainly use it for cleaning metal and some light lube situations.

For the na sayers, Try it in a mock scrape and see who comes. Put up a trail cam so you have proof.
