Default got 1st buck picture on Grandmas land

Got a trail cam behind my grandmothers house. Got some decent movement these last 2 weeks cant really say the size or age of the buck. my uneducated guess is 3 years? I have no clue really just what I'd imagine him to be age wise.

i'm not good at guessing either but i think you're right on at 3yrs. that's a nice looking buck and should be a brute for next season!

Really not sure on how to age. I do know there is a smaller 4 point from an older night pick and I think I got this guy blurry running the 4 point off.

If I ever did take him will other bucks just move in and rule the roost so to speak?

I was mainly just going to go for meat does but I'd take a rack now

Aging deer on the hoof really isnt an exact science, jaw bone examination is about the only credible way, mostly if they appear feminine or not filled out they are younger

that looks like a 2 1/2 year old. no slump in the back, real thin neck and looks like a high belly. nice deer though but if you have the chance and the confidence then let him walk till next year

thats probably a 2 1/2 year old buck. hes pretty wide but not very massive or that tall of tines. give another year or two and he should start growing some more mass
