Wink Shot this young basket rack 7 point

The other evening I was hunting a management area in NW Florida, When this young little buck ran out of the woods nose to the ground. I turned around and he took off quartering away, Took a quick shot and dropped him in his tracks, He has 7 scorable point but one of his brown tines is only about 3/4 of an inch so I aint really countin that. Im guessin hes probally around 1 1/2 yr. old

I know he woulda beeen a real good one next year but I had to pull the trigger, The freezer was about 3 lbs from being empty

Good job on putting meat in the freezer, but dang, them Florida deer are small, I have shot fawns with spots that were bigger than that.

for such a young deer he has a fine rack, next year he wouldnt have been a big buck but hed have been alright. on public land i wouldnt let him walk ( in alabama ) Good job congrats, i killed a 7 pt this year i would say that was nearly identical in rack size and body size, AFTER i had already taken two large bucks, to me it just depends on the area im hunting, sometimes a buck like this is as rare as a large buck on better land! being from down south, and having hunted national forest and WMA's, i know your pain lol

Good shootin', when the seasons end is closing in and the freezers looking bare I would have laid him out to.

Nice buck.....yeah there is no way you can let a deer like that walk on public land he in FL. If you do that than you might see your deer dead at the check station with another hunter.
