RE: What are the Boone and Crocket or P&Y Regs?

I dont think arrow length matters, but you cant have more than 65% let-off, no unnatural light, like battery operated lights on your sight, and your deer has to meet a certain criteria. Im sure there is more rules that I dont know but that are the main ones that I can think of. The Pope and Young club Club has a minumunof 125 inches for typical, not sure on non-typical. B&C Im not completely sure.

RE: What are the Boone and Crocket or P&Y Regs?

I am not aware of any arrow restrictions for Pope & Young, the let off is as stated no more than 65%. However you can enter a deer shot with a bow in Boone & Crockett and the let off does not matter, meaning above 65% is aok as long as you meet the min. score.

P & Y Scores for deer are:
Mule Typical: 145
Mule Nontypical: 170
WT Typical: 125
WT Nontypical: 155

B & C have two catagories they acknowledge - Awards and All-time (Book)
Awards:
Mule Typical: 180
Mule Non Typical: 215
WT Typical: 160
WT Nontypical: 185

All-Time:
Mule Typical: 190
Mule Non-Typical: 230
WT Typical: 170
WT NonTypical: 195

Any other rules, scoring information, etc can be found on their websites:

RE: What are the Boone and Crocket or P&Y Regs?

P/Y and B/C are two different organizations, B/C accepts any buck, ( Rifle, road kills, finds, ect.) but the P/Y is strictly limited to bow hunting provided that it meets the requirements set forth by P/Y, and if you can' t qualify for P/Y then you go to the B/C, they accept anything.
Skeeter as usual you got some good imfo.
The P/Y does have arow restrictions and it states it like this:

HUNTING ARROW SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERTICS:

* IT SHALL BE A PROJECTILE OF AT LEAST 20 INCHES IN LENGTH. THE TIP OF THE AROW SHALL BE MEASURED FROM THE REARWARD POINT OF THE NOCK TO THE TIP OF THE BROADHEAD.
* FLETCHING SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE AFT END.
* A BROADHEAD SHALL BE MOUNTED TO THE FOR END.
* THE ARROW SHALL WEIGH NO LESS THAN 300 GRAINS WITH THE BROADHEAD ATTACHED.

I am confident that my equipment is within the P/Y peramerters, you just never know when that bad boy is comeing out. ;)Bobby
