European Tradition
Does anyone know about a European tradition after harvesting a deer, taking a
tuft of grass and placing it in the deer' s mouth and another tuft of grass placing it in your hatband? I remember seeing this done but can' t remember the significance of doing it or why it was done. Can anybody help me?

RE: European Tradition
seen this article awhile back: In a few minutes he returned and placed some green " feed" into the mouth of the deer. This represented the " last bite" or, in German, letzte bissen. This ceremony (though not really a ceremony, but for lack of a better word that’s what I’ll call it) is performed with " love and respect for the animal that we have taken and our love of nature." Josef next placed a green branch atop my hat, which displayed my success – a European tradition many centuries old.
