Oh no Somebody gets it!! Welcome to the Libertarian Party my friend.:barmy::barmy: Your world is about to change (if it hasn't already).
I will say w/ all due respect, as a libertarian, your position on tax collection surprises me a bit:confused2: |

LOL, nobody guitar company? Shows how much you know about music or guitars, or WHO is playing them.
Yeah, when you sacrifice your namesake and quality for money (along with buying up every musical instrument brand you can), it's selling out. There's a REASON Fender guitars of a certain era are so sought after. Same with Gibsons. Of course, you can iconize and market yourself to death so the little sheep will keep buying your crap, thinking it's the best...all because of a name. And that's not to say ALL of Fenders products are crap, because they're not. And there's more to business and business ethics than the "scientific" side of economics. |

The best use of American knowledge is to innovate, not manufacture. Made in China doesn't mean a chinese company. Lands End, LL Bean, Orvis, etc all rely on foreign labor to produce goods. And its ok. Even Filson has foreign made items. But, if its economically feasible it works.
Look at Fender guitars, you can't get more American than that...American made Stratocaster costs about $1,200. Mexican made costs around $500. Parts are almost identical, little better finish on a few of the American model, but that's about it. Empowering developing countries increases demand on American products. Which equals $in our pockets.. As for being upside down on mortgages, you can thank the govt, banks, and realtors for deregulation and over speculation... The first actual television is credited to Paul Nipkow. Another kraut. |

Uh, no it doesn't. FreeDOM means you can buy what you want, free trade means Nations can trade what they want, essentially...
Next lesson is on comparative advantage....stay tuned. You have no freedom without free trade. Free trade is about giving consumers options that were previously closed by meddling government intervention that was constitutionally unjustified and led to many of the problems the US faces today. |

Ill admit I am no guitar expert but I own a 08' SG standard, its is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. I played alot of guitars the day I bought it. It was the best sounding guitar in the shop IMHO.

That very well may be the case. Of course, appreciation for tone is always subjective. But the problem with Gibsons and Fenders today is that you have to play the whole lot of them to find a good one. And, for sure, you can find one that is a knock-out!! But their QC has gone down the tubes. That's the beauty of turning to a smaller operation like Suhr. ALL of the guitars they build are top notch and of superb craftsmanship and fit & finish. Tonally they will all differ...no two guitars will ever sound the same. Maybe one day I will own one... :)

Libertarianism is not liberalism.
You will find that most Libertarians endorse the end of taxation at the individual level, as it should be. |

I wondered if that is what you meant. Actually those comments are tainted with sarcasm (I have said this forum needs sarcasm smileys). Many on this forum hold themselves up on a pedestal about how high and mighty they are when it comes to poaching and obeying hunting laws and how anyone who breaks any hunting law no matter how trivial is a worthless peice of scum, yet have no problem breaking laws that don't jive with their point of veiw. Hell as far as I am concerned screw the man!!! Just more a comentary of those that live in glass houses don't cast stones. My veiw is don't be hypocritical. |

Stand on your soapbox big boy....Who does Fender have an obligation too? Stakeholders or those who can only afford X amount of $ for a guitar? Are they supposed to be in business? Now.....if I could just get rid of this piece of crap 1987 Paul Reid Smith Custom 24 ...I could make room for Suka Custom, or whatever that was.... |
