Has Any One Ever?
Has any one ever tried to go deer hunting, with a torn rotator cuff in their sholder?
My right sholder, rotator cuff is torn, and I have tried to hunt. Yesterday, I went in the woods, and wouldn't you know. I see a Nice buck, but he comes from behind, on the wrong side. We see each other about the same time, so he blows, and is gone. Then on top of thet, my sugar drops. And you guesed it, I forget, my candy incase of this. So I go home, pumped about seeing a Nice buck. I will try again tomorrow, maybe my sholder will stop hurting by then. So has any one else tried to hunt, with a torn rotator cuff? Thank You jrbsr |
anything with a torn rotater cuff is bad...can tear it more w/o even noticing it.. there is a surgery where they basically make a mesh cuff and patch you up.. costly, but i aint had a problem since my surgery ...the worse ya make it the more it cost lol

Like halfbaked mentioned...the more you try hunting with a torn rotator cup (I thought it is called Cup?) any ways the worse your gonna make it...and if you end up getting operated on the longer the recovery time........so don't mess it up worse than it already is Goofy! ;)
I messed my shoulder up at work and there was no way I could pull back my Bow string, ended up getting surgery and I was careful with it for several months, bought a newer bow with more let-off and turned the poundage down low enough to draw back and went out hunting.I never got a Deer within range to shoot my Bow so I didn't strain my shoulder that Fall and was fine the next year for Bow Season. You may want to get a temporary "Crossbow Permit" signed from your Doctor so you can use it temporarly until you heal up if you end up getting operated on? |
Not a torn rotator cuff, but for a month now the muscles under my right shoulder blade have been extremely sore. I think it started from slipping on my heavy backpack when I was hunting, then slinging on my backpack Husqvarna blower, then wood chopping with a maul. Haven't given it time to heal, now many things I do come with an ache. I cringe or wince now and again, but it ain't no thang. LOL!
Hope you heal fast jrbsr. Having fun hunting with a torn cuff is no fun. Rub some dirt on it and call it good. LOL! iSnipe |
One of the young guys that hunts our leased land fell out of his tree stand this archery season (stand tilted and he didn't have a harness) and he landed on his back accross a large log. Crushed a vertebrae and here he is, ready to go rifle hunting. I couldn't believe it. I mean he is seriously hurting and there he is. I guess when hunting gets in your blood nothing can get in the way. :rolleye0011:
