Don't ya'll know the bucks ALWAYS walk in front of your stand when your not there. That's natures way of sticking it to you.

it's the trail cam's fault...always showing you deer when you are not in the woods...i smell a conspiracy :) lol

This morning was mighty frustrating. Sat in stand by 515 becaue the snow is so crunchy and I want there to be time to calm down before light. Like clockwork he comes in at 645 just at first light. He doesnt come past the camera he stays off to my right in a thicket and does not present me with a single shot then walks off. Tomorrow is another day he had been coming all week around the same time hunted friday morning to and he came at 630 still dark couldnt see through scope. He wasnt spooked today and we are in the process of getting 7 inches of snow so my scent in there will be wiped clean I think theres a good chance of him coming tomorrow morning as well. Also saw 3 does with a the same 4 point I shoulder shot a few weeks ago he was running strong no gimp at all so that made me happy. He was about 150 yards out

Sounds like You are getting smarter by patterning the Buck when he comes in...now You just need to get in there scent-free and quietly so You can harvest that Big Buck! ;)

Maybe You need to set off a little ways away from your existing stand so he doesn't know your in there hunting him?

I know what you mean. I have a neighbor who has a nice stand on his land and he decided to sleep in mornings and told me I could use his stand...actually insisted on it. I got a real nice 6 with the smoke pole out of it. I walked back to his house to get my truck and he was just getting out of bed. It is a curse to not be a morning person.;)

There are no guarantees when it comes to deer hunting except that if you're not there, then they aren't gonna be spooked by your presence. Had you went out that morning, who's to say he wouldn't have scented you or got pushed out when you came in. But again, you will never know for sure unless you get out there. Nice buck though.

You can't get them if you aren't there. Hunt 5 days in a row and take the 6th off. That is the day he will be there. Works out like that more times than not.

Ain't it the truth though. Let a newbie hunt your stand on the 6th day and it's almost a guarantee he'll be there.

What you need to do is move your trail cam to a different area. Right now, everytime a nice deer shows up during shooting light you are gonna beat yourself up about it. ;)

Hey he looks like kin to this one! This was my first deer ever, taken with a bow.
