Shed Hunting
 

When hunting season is over, I love to look for sheds. How much success does everyone have with shed antler hunting and how do you do it?? Antler Traps? Shed Dogs?

My success is fair, considering where I go there aren't many big bucks to begin with. I do it to get out and have a little fun, some exercise and to see wildlife.

I like to use binoculars. They help a lot. When I see something that looks like an antler, instead of walking over, I can first check it out with the binos.

I guess if I were to narrow down the most targeted spot I look for a shed, is right next to a blowdown. You'd be surprised how many I've found next to a fallen tree or brush pile of some sort. Bucks like to bed near them.
