300 savage is a dang good caliber and many a deer have been downed with it, ballistics are not to far off from the .308 (my fave and a classic)
Nice buck too!

Made in 1941 and still as accurate as the day it was made. We didn't see as many deer this year as in past years, in Southwest Wisconsin in Richland County. Good luck everyone! Good hunting.

Congrats !!

Love the 99's and ya might I say have a "couple" myself. :happy0001:

What for ammo are ya using in your 300 ??

Some food for thought. Just think about the buck/bucks that were willing and able to take this one on and apparently not back down. At least not until that damage was done to this one's rack. :happy0001:

Thanks for all the great comments and congrats. To answer the fella above, I use Reminginton Core-Lokts, 180 grain soft points. I only use those because a couple years ago, Meijer was clearing out all their ammo and I found like 12 boxes and got em for around $5 a box. Can you believe it? But the 180 grainers are very accurate. Plus the longest shot I can even take where I hunt in Richland County, Wisconsin is around 120 yards or so. Most of the deer we take are in the 40 to 70 yard range.

Again, Thanks for all the comments. My brother in law took 2 trophies off this property back in 2004. I'll try to post pics later on.

Happy Hunting!
