I stared at one through a bush for 15 minutes a few weeks ago. A friend of mine said, "you should have taken the shot." I don't know - I've just read a bunch of brush-buster arguments. I'm still ok with having not pulled the trigger on that one. There's more out there - I'll wait till I have a clean shot.

I guy i hunt with shot a buck 2 years ago. the shot angle was broadside, and the bullet made almost a complete pass through but it never penetrated the skin on the opposite side. but it was wierd cuz the bullet was resting in the entry hole, almost like it bounced off the rib, and ended up where it penetrated...

My wife shot a doe with a .223 - perfect broadside shot behind the shoulder. The bullet went in and hit the ribs on the far side then ricochetted straight up and through the back bone. Dropped the doe where she stood. I didnt know thats what happened until I was quartering her up and found the wounds on the far ribs and back bone.

I had a 12ga slug bounce off the spine of a doe and come back out the same side on a perfect broadside shot. Left a hole you could reach into.
