Default GOT LUCKY! Big Buck

Been seeing some major buck sign around an area I hunt.

Almost 11hrs of waiting and out he walked at 4pm...I burned a set of crosshairs into a 7pt around 730am opening morning but did not pull the trigger. I just caught him tailing a doe, about 100yrds into the woods, out of the corner of my eye. When I turned to shoot CRUNCH tramped right on a plastic water bottle at my feet. BUSTED! He stood there broadside locked on my location, but for some reason didnt move.

Lifted my gun slowly put the crosshairs on his chest and took a shot on 2 power with my .270win. He charged uphill towards me which first made me think I missed. I tried to fire another round but was fairly frazzled by the chain of events. After collecting myself I started looking for blood.

30yrds into the woods I found a huge blood rush. Deep red which made me think I hit him pretty good in the lungs. about 50 yrds later I found him piled up on a fallen tree. When I spotted him in the woods I knew it was a big deer maybe 9 or 10pts, but when I rolled his head over to see the brows I had to sit down...

15 scorable points...Split brows ON BOTH SIDES...I was so proud...Scored just over 150...

Hes going on the wall...Pics to follow

Congrat's! Nice buck.

Maybe I'll have to take a pop bottle with me from now on? LOL!

Congrats on a really nice buck!! I shot a fifteen pointer during the blackpowder season here in Va. I am still pinching myself to make sure it was not a dream.......
