Illinois 25 point buck
 

heres the story from our chicagoland newspaper. Guess the guy shot at the deer hit it in the ear and it fell off a 20 foot cliff and drown.

as a side note ....call me a skeptic.....but are we sure that "ear shot" isn't a story to cover for an ear tag he removed from his farm deer? I suppose other people said they saw it in the area too....so I'm probably just being paranoid. :)

sorry no pics all i know is what is in the paper. Thats a hell of a way to die.

Hell of a deer, and if it were me, I wouldnt feel as if I killed it, which he did not. Therefore kinda ruining the moment. Id prob. sell those antlers to Cabelas for a couple hundered thousand and buy tree pruners and limb saws out the ass...lol.

I hate to say it but X2!! :) I'd admit it in the end but I think I'd be a little embarrassed at camp!

The Chicago Tribune is the worst paper for the outdoors! I'm surprised they even printed this.

Well, native Americans used to lure animals over cliffs as a hunting tactic, but that was intentional. I'm not sure missing a shot,and accidently piercing it's ear and causing it to accidently die counts. But it's a good story and I would treasure the experience and the mount. I don't however think it should be considered as a deer hunting record.
