5 Attachment(s)
Guys, attacthed are six pics a couple may be off the same deer. I have given my opinion on age, give me yours!!
#1 I say 4.5 at least, huge neck for a deer in this area that is not in rut #2 I say 6.5 my feeling is that this deer was in his prime years ago #3 I say 4.5 or 5.5, however something tells me this deer is at or past his prime # 4 and 5 are the same deer i say 4.5 years old with incredible genes #6 I think is 3.5 and the brother to the deer in the previous pics 4 and 5 |

my opinion is, why do you have so many old deer! all we have is mostly yearlings here ;(

The key is basically not to shoot little bucks........most of the deer i have seen posted on here (the site) arent more than 3 years old..these deer in the picture are beginning to reach their prime.....especially the deer in 1194..if your gonna shoot a little buck you will never have a chance to shoot a big mature one.....do everyone a favor and shoot a doe....

Curious as to how you age "prime". I have always thought a deer was just getting into prime at 4.5 and stayed that way through 6.5 to 7.5 with post prime being 8.5 or older.

was looking over my pics again again i think the deer in the first and third pic are the same. I am now thinking this one is a really old deer maybee 6.5 plus

If those boys over in McIntosh and Chatom find your honeyhole, that bean field will look like an airport runway with night lights......:D

Thanks timbercruiser thats just what i needed to hear!! Because of the location of these pics i suspect they are fairly wise to night hunters. I known of two stories of people having bullets go through their houses fairly near here. I could be wrong but i think these deer would have been dead years ago if they were just wandering around carlessly at night. I have been hunting 3 trail cams for a month now and have not taken one single pic during daylight hours. Not even a doe. These things are not stupid.
