Thumbs up Ohio Youth Deer Gun Season

i will be taking my son Josh (16) and my daughter Jessica (13) out this weekend for the Youth season hunt. Just wondered if anyone else from Ohio was heading out this weekend ?? I figured this would give us a spot to swap stories and pictures from this weekends hunts !!

Neither one of my kids have ever killed a deer ...........Josh hunted last year during the youth season and also during regular gun and muzzle loader season with me too and just didnt get a good shot at a deer and this will be Jessica's FIRST HUNT !!!

GOOD LUCK !!!

Good on ya for taking the kids out. We need more kids out there, especially girls.

I guess I didn't realize it was youth season already, for some reason I thought it was Thanksgiving weekend. I might be taking a friend's 13 year old out for his first hunt on Saturday, but was planning on squirrels. Guess we'll have to wear our orange.

Good luck.

Best of luck to your kids. Also, THANKS to you for doing your part to introduce the next generation to this great sport and tradition that we all love!

The Illinois general firearm season opens in the morning and my 3 kids will all be out trying to tag a deer. My Daughter is 14 and has taken several whitetails and turkey. My sons are 9 and 10 and this is only their 2nd season so they are VERY excited about tomorrow!!! My 9 year old took his first buck during this Octobers' Youth season and he's really looking forward to gettin a chance at a "big one" now.

Good luck to all of the Youth hunters!

Not much to report so far ...........we hunted saturday all day and tagged in no deer...................also hunted sunday morning and had no luck at all...............the deer just are NOT moving where we are hunting..............my son Josh did see a decent buck on saturday morning when he was sitting with his uncle Jeff and he took too long of a shot for him and missed it.....................other then that we just arent seeing any deer............i am hoping this evening that the deer will be moving since there is a cold front moving in this evening .

My niece is on the "govenors" hunt right now....she is sitting with Grandpa and every guy on our lease is walking, crawling and beating every thicket they can find for her...I keep getting cell phone reports here in Chicago...kind of like play by play
