If I could give you and any other new hunters some advice, it would be to start a photo album for all of your game. Every year I get a deer or turkey, I put a picture of it in my album with a description of the hunt. I have over 20 years of pictures and stories that describes the hunt for every deer and turkey I have shot. It sure is nice going back and reading about my first successful deer hunt with my dad or my first successful archery hunt and what took place. It will make for a nice book if I ever have kids and if I am fortunate enough to have them join me on hunts, I wil start a book for them also.

Good luck on your future hunts and have a safe season.
I strongly second this idea, I have pics of all my deer, turkey, squirrel, fish. I can remember every single hunt with these pics. Congrats on the deer.

Congrats on an awesome first deer! I got my first deer four years ago at the age of 34 and it was just a small button buck but it started the fever that lasts throughout each year. Good luck in the future!
