Scope staying "zeroed"
Any testimonials on the scope you use. Which scope stays "zeroed" for you? Which scope does not stay "zeroed"? Anyone had good results with Tasco?
|
I use a Simmons scope and it has been zeroed in for 4 years now...
Not sure about the exact model. |
I have poor luck with cheap scopes in general. Even mid range priced scopes will do very well if the mounts are installed correctly, the rings are good, the rings are lapped and everything is torqued down correctly. Some of my center fire rifles have fired thousands of rounds without every needing re-zero'd. Leupold, Burris, Sightron, Nikon all do well for me.

i use tascos on my 30-30 and on dads 7 mag neither one stays zeroed every year i have to re-site my 30-30 and it hardly ever gets touched anymore except for fun shooting

Leupold VX-III with Leupold base/rings.

It is no big for me to deal to re-zero a scope every year or so. I'd be more concerned with the quality of the optics in terms of light enhancement, clarity, and eye relief.
I have a Leupold on my Remington 700 .3006 and a Simmons on my Marlin bolt action .22. Both stay zeroed pretty well. The only other scope I have is a 2x aimpoint on a Springfield SOCOM II; I haven't shot it since I zeroed it several months ago. |
I'm actually shocked that the bottom of the line Tasco scopes could remain zeroed! In fact, I seriously doubt the scopes abilities to take much abuse at all before failing. Also, the optical quality would be so poor, you guys have to know what you're missing.
Although I don't expect everyone to be able to afford Swarovski optik on their favorite rifles, even a mid priced scope like many of the Nikon models would be MUCH more reliable. In the optic world, you really do get what you pay for..... buyer beware. ![]() |

If this means any thing, Tasco is now owned by, and made by Bushnell.
