You might try sending a copy to the Department of Fish & Game and see if they can answer your question. They often know quite a bit about various deer diseases and/or what is normal but often thought of as a disease. Another option might be to see if someone at the USDA might know. They inspect meat all the time.

You guys must have not cleaned too many deer. Those things are in every deer I have ever killed. Sometimes many, sometimes just a few. I really can't tell you what they are, but they aren't blood clots. They are probably cysts.

They are in dang near every deer I kill too. I figure they're probably lymph nodes or something like that.

Could they be from fawns banging the teet area when nursing?

No clue why or what but not uncommon here either.

I have seen them before also. Just want to know what they actually are.

Wow..........like everyone else......never seen that before. To my knowledge you don't get blood clots in fat........clots stay in veins and muscule. I would say it some kind of parasite or something. Cook it hot and fast............maybe dip it in a little shore lunch

I agree, I think they were in about every deer I have ever cleaned. I know they were in the 4 I cleaned last week. They look like blood clots to me.
