This is tough!
I honestly don't know if I am cut out for it. I have had great fun when running hogs with curs or upland game over pointers, but this sitting in a stand freezing cold for hours and hours just gets to me.
Obviously if I got a deer that would give me future motivation but getting the first one seems really tough. I have the opportunity to hunt one last Saturday in the middle of a storm. Should be lots of rain and snow in central Maine.
Is it worth the 8+ hours of driving? Will I be kicking myself when season is over and I would do anything to hunt.
Should I just stick to something more active? Stick with the hogs and upland? Wait until I can go out west and do some spot and stalk? Maybe 2-3 years?
This is a bummer!
