Dang-on hogs!
 

So i havent been able to make it to the woods often and i leave one morning and get up in my stand and its a great morning. its cold, squirrels are starting to scurry about and all of a sudden theres a noise, possible a rutting buck crunching the leaves. when it comes into view not 40 yards out turns out its a dern hog. now, is it worth ruining one of the few trips you 've been able to make to eradicate the hogs. sorry its so long i just wanted you guys to get the picture of what i feel.:confused0024:

yes from what I hear they are very good eating plus that's one less hog to screw up your deer hunt

Our DNR all but begs us to kill them on sight, we can hunt them all year round.

Dang hogs are taking over down here. There are a lot of places that didn't have hogs two years ago that are thick with the dang things now. They are sort of like coyotes, you can't get rid of them. If you catch a few in a trap, you won't catch any more there. If you catch one with a dog, it will be hard to cach it the next time. If you shoot a couple the rest will go nocturnal.

Deer come to my feeder and so do hogs, just not at the same time. I'd take the hog and have it processed. See if you like the meat. Dressed, butchered and cooked properly, they're really good.

You bet. I shoot any hog I see on sight. I kill around a dozen each year.

If I'm deer hunting and see a hog, then I'm hog hunting. If I'm deer hunting and see a coyote, then I'm coyote hunting. If you don't do something about the hogs and the coyotes you won't have many deer left around to hunt.

P.S. - They are good to eat, but you can't make bacon out of the hogs around here. Not enough fat. Not even close.
