whitetailharley 11-05-2009 08:25 AM

NC Buck Slayer 11-05-2009 09:01 AM

can take 4 bucks or 6 deer total in eastern NC. i think u can get bonus doe tags too.

BarnesX.308 11-05-2009 09:24 AM

I buck in PA.

How about Texas? I see them shooting all these cull bucks on these ranches. Are they burning their tags for the year or can they pop as many as they want?

mrMONEYman 11-05-2009 09:32 AM

In WI, I believe you maybe able to take 3 bucks per year, one for each type of weapon (archery, gun, MZ). I know you can take as many does as you want, no limit. At $2 an extra tag, it doesn't cost that much.

jklink 11-05-2009 09:46 AM

In Texas, there are certain counties that allow only one buck to be taken and some allow up to 3. A large number of counties that have always been one buck counties went the the antler restriction rule where you can take two bucks where one has to be at least 13" inside spread and the other has to have at least one unbranched antler. All of the places I hunt have gone to this rule. I beleive the Texas parks and wildlife can also issue extra permits for bucks and does on certain kinds of land after taking a census of the number of deer there and that is where you are seeing more deer being taken.

FlDeerman 11-05-2009 11:10 AM

Well here goes,in Florida two a day for every day of the season.

salukipv1 11-05-2009 11:17 AM

IL- 2 bucks a year, without requiring you to take any does, not sure if there is a max on does or not, I wish they'd start a earn a 2nd buck tag program...tons of guys shoot 2 bucks every year and never shoot a doe.

driftrider 11-05-2009 12:40 PM

Iowa allows residents to buy one any-sex tag for any one gun season, and one more any-sex tag for bow. We can buy a virtually unlimited number of antlerless tags, provided the county antlerless quota hasn't been reached.

I like the Illinois law now. I don't really believe in the doe before buck law. I, myself tend to shoot between 2 and 8 does per year. I won't kill a buck unless he's worth it. Makes you think twice on bucks when you know in the back of your mind you only have 2 to kill and there is always bigger ones out there.

dpj1030 11-05-2009 03:11 PM

Florida you can get as many as you desire. Buck n A Doe perd day! we got a long season too. Deer are small though

shottyhunter24 11-05-2009 03:17 PM

it depends on your deer area
MN's are of 218 you can take a buck+a bonus tag

TNGal 11-05-2009 03:23 PM

Tennesse allowed 3 does per day 3 bucks for the year. This is for unit L in tennessee.

nromaker 11-06-2009 01:09 AM

In missouri 2 for archery and 1 for gun hunting.

kevin1 11-06-2009 02:09 AM

Indiana allows only one buck, with exceptions for park reduction culls, urban deer zones, and military bases.

Keep in mind that 1 of your buck tags is only valid east of the Blue Ridge.

So, if you only hunt west of the Blue Ridge you are only allowed 2 bucks.

but how many bucks do you think die west of the blue ridge and get checked in on the east side. hundreds ,i'd say.

gunther89 11-06-2009 07:11 AM

If you hunt in the CWD area we still have the EAB so if you shoot 20 does you get 20 buck tags. For every doe you shoot you get a buck tag to use either with a bow or gun.

DannyD 11-06-2009 08:10 AM

3 Bucks in WV

turkey guide 11-06-2009 09:55 AM

ONE with bow and ONE by any other weapon, any centerfire rifle, pistol, revolver, crossbow, bow, shotgun including 410 with slugs only, or any muzzleloader 40 cal. up, and airguns 40 cal or larger, in Missouri, and unlimitted does. So you can take two bucks with a bow, but only one with a gun, or crossbow.

I'm sure there are some, especially in the counties on the east/west border.

However my guess is that if someone west of the Blue Ridge killed more than 2 bucks, they would not bother to check it in the first place.

PY Antlers 11-06-2009 08:35 PM

WI limit on bucks is two, and thats only if you hunt with both bow and rifle/muzzleloader. The price of doe tags is back to $12, but with archery you get 2 doe tags that are managment unit specific. In my opinion, there is to much liberal political input to the way the DNR writes the laws. Way to much back scrathing going on!

halfrack VIII 11-07-2009 03:04 PM

new jersey allows for one buck in each of the following seasons: permit bow, fall bow, winter bow, muzzleloader, permit shotgun, and two bucks in six day firearm ( if you take two in six day firearm you forefit your permit shotgun tag)

Same in Michigan, Then everyone complains about the small bucks.:bash:
I would like to see the earn a Buck as well, or just one Buck, 4 pts. on one side or better. Shoot a Doe to fill your freezer.
