Default Greenish mucus on deer meat? Puss pics added!

Ive butchered alot of deer but Ive never seen one of these greenish mucus sacks, like I found on the buck I killed yesterday. Ive heard people mention it before though. What is it? Im wondering if this make the meat unsafe to eat, although I did throw out the meat around it. Thanks in advance

I've seen greenish mucus on deer that had been shot by an arrow earlier that year or the year before. Did it look like that could have been the case?

Its from an area that had an infection. The rest of the deer is fine, avoid the areas that were in close proximity to the infected area.

No this was actually one of the few deer Ive killed in this area, that didnt have some sort of broadhead or 22cal projectile embedded in it somewhere (damn NY poachers) but who knows I havent actually eat any of him yet. Good news is ,even w/ the little bit a had to throw away ,I still got about 50lbs of lean boned out meat from him
Oh and thanks 160kid

The ones I found were in the shoulder, two golf ball size sacks, pretty nasty stuff,

I've never seen a mucusy puss - but I have run across blueish green crystal things - which I thought were glands or something - but could have been a dried infection.
