.308 cartridge
I bought a Marlin .308 this summer. I was going to use it for deer season this year. I was wondering if anyone had some advice on which brand, grain, and type of tip works with the best efficiency and is most accurate. I'm not looking for take down power or the biggest load, just an accurate load that i know is gonna make a good shot up to 200 yards.

Assuming your Marlin is a lever-action... Hornaday came out with a new tip bullet that is pointed just for tubular magazine rifles. It really extended the range on my Marlin 336 30-30. It's called the Leverevolution. It delivers a much higher ballistic coefficient result than the older round nose tip bullets. It's a spitzer bullet with a new elastomer flex tip on for better ballistic performance and allows pointed bullet to pointed bullet alignment in the tubular magazine. Might be worth a look and I recommend it.

Marlin started making bolt actions. Im going to have to ask, hows it shoot? is it decent?

iSnipe Also they are very accurate to 200+ yards! By the way good choice on the .308 cal (sorry I'm bias on that particular caliber) |
Any factory load in 150, 165, or 180 gr will do the job at 200 and beyond. Find one that your guns shoots well.

Many people still don't know that Marlin has 2 lever actions in the .308 caliber. iSnipe |
