Illinois Buck (is it real)

Just got this on my cell phone.

The guy that sent it says he thinks it's for real.

The message with it said: " Greenville area 320 38pt 40 in spread 31 beam 6.5 bases farmer shot him"

What do you folks think?

EXACTLY, that photo has already made it's rounds on several different forums over the last couple weeks.

The good news though, Illinois has already produced a couple of non-typ bowkills this season that will score in the 230's-240's B&C.

You can't tell by just looking at it? I can tell by looking at it. It wasn't done very well.

Oh really?? I see very distinct lines and several areas where tines are touching the truck bed backed up by shadows. If that is photoshopped, whoever did it could make a career of it.

There was a little more info on one of the IL. websites today. Seems they have gotten a little more info that this was a pen raised deer from Greenville.

salukipv1 10-16-2009 07:58 PM

Wouldn't be our 1st 300"er...

superstrutter 10-16-2009 08:00 PM

It looks fake to me, but who knows. The way ranches hand raise monster bucks today, you never know. If it is real, I bet the guy forked out a huge amount of money to take him.

Ya really. There is no way this is an actual true untouched photo of a buck.

Shadows? That proves a photo now days?

This must be a real photo too.

You should have a valid point if you want to debate this. Your comparing apples to oranges with these two pics. Obviously you know nothing about Photo Shop.

BowHunter28 10-16-2009 10:05 PM

umm no way that deer has a 40 in spread - maybe outside but that doesnt matter in scoring.., and no way it scores in the 300's lol?

andrewp 10-17-2009 04:08 AM

Fake

I dont think that picture is real, plus if i tagged a buck that big I would take a lot more photos, right?

x2

At first look, I could tell as well.

2 Lunger 10-17-2009 12:30 PM

Looks like all you Photo Shop "experts" are wrong. There are several photos of this deer now, but I will let you "experts" debunk this photo as well before I post the rest.

I know this deer is real, I shot it last week with my bow.

2 Lunger 10-17-2009 07:39 PM

No takers? (sigh)

I thought maybe OhioSlayer would at least try.

whitetailaddiction 10-17-2009 08:33 PM

Hey 2 Lunger how about some more info/photos and perhaps some links to the sources?

If you have the proof please share.

I'd like some closure here one way or the other.

Well tell me what wasnt done very well. If you can tell its a fake by just looking at it, then you should be able to tell me whats wrong with it right?

Well, the biggest thing to me when I looked at it as is sure as hell looks like the Antlers aren't crisp like real life ones are. That was the main thing. There are other things.

If its real, then I was wrong. I can admit that. It looks fake to me. If you don't agree with that, then good for you.

OMG WERE WAS HE KILLED:jaw:
lol jk
Anywho the original picture looks pretty good to me but I am definantly no photo expert. How
can you guys tell (dont just say I just can tell Examples would be nice

Stab-it 10-18-2009 07:48 PM

I go to school for graphic design and work extensively in photo shop. To me there are no blatant indications that it was tampered with. Not saying it isn't altered cause it can definitely be done successfully and you would never know. To me it looks legit, but there is no way you can tell just by looking. If it is tampered it is a good job, at least to my eyes.

fingerz42 10-18-2009 08:35 PM

Looks real to me.. but that spread is no more than pry 25"

kldad06 10-18-2009 08:49 PM

if it is real it is an awesome buck for someone

timbercruiser 10-19-2009 04:47 AM

Looks real enough to me. The second picture appears to qualify the first one.

Pen raised deer already qualifies it as a zero class deer in my book (not that it is the deers fault). The same guys that see the flawed beauty in harvesting a gentically modified and controled growth domesticated pet are the same ones taht are pissed off that Barry Bonds is the MLB Homerun King.
