Cool. Something similar happened to me. Was trophy hunting bucks way back in... a good walk. Last light came and I heard one animal coming easy out of the cattails. I knew it was a buck and I knew I was going to get a shot. The rubs left in that area were impressive to say the least.

Dang coyote comes out instead ruining my hopes and messing me up. I returned the favor. LOL!

Congrat's on your coyote.

I hear them howling when I walk out of the woods at dark.I also saw a big one crossing a field the day before our bow season opened. If I see any during bow, rifle or muzzy season I'll try and get them. After deer season I'm going to hunt them hard. There seem to be more every year.I'm not sure how hard they get hunted in my area.

We have too many down by me, I see 5 or 6 everytime I go out. I shoot them every chance I get because they kill the hell out of our fawns. Found 3 dead this year in one area...
