son has been succesful

This past weekend was the youth only firearm season in Ky and my son definately took advantage of it.He is only 11 and seems to be getting the hang of it.

He fired 2 shots from his youth model Rossi .308 and had 2 on the ground in their tracks.
Saturday doe.

Sunday doe

Last weeks first bow kill, shot at 15 yards, double lung and deer went 30 yards and fell over dead.Complete passthrough and arrow stuck in tree. Not bad for a 40# bow.

(many may have already seen this over in the bowhunting forum)

After last season dealing with very little deer sightings due to blue tongue,it is a nice change to see and have shots almost every time out.I am really starting to learn the bedding habits of the deer on this farm of 400 acres I have acces to(700 acres in certain situations)

We have only had 3 sits this year we didn't have game in range for one of us.2 were short sits due to bad weather.

I have a doe to add to our total and this year we have made a commitment to knowing where they are bedding and playing the wind.

TFox, congrats to your boy and you. You must be a proud pappa! I know I would be! Secondly, my son and my step son are right on the verg of getting a bow pulled back. My son is 9 and step son 8. What bow and model is your son shooting? If you don't mind, PM me with this information, santa might be bringing new bows for the boys this year. Thank you in advance, and congrats once more!
